Korean Plate Lunch Sale
We will be having a
Korean Plate Lunch Sale on Saturday, August 16, 2008. Pickup will
be from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm.
The following
donations will be greatly appreciated:
Manpower will be
needed on Saturday, August 16th.
Please see Tessie for
tickets, a great bargain at $8.00 each. Proceeds from this sale
will go to the Kitchen Fund for our newly renovated Founder's Hall
kitchen.
Gift Card Drive
Pastor Jaeman has depleted his supply
of gift cards. He has given out to many people in need. He
can use Safeway $5, $10, $20 gift cards. Pastor Jaeman has found
McDonald's $5 gift cards to be useful
Youth Luncheon
On August 24th, the
youth will be serving the meal at Good Shepherd Church. Last time
they took toilet paper and other items that were greatly appreciated.
This time, they are asking for toilet paper, powdered laundry detergent,
and small toys in good shape that can be used.
School Supply List
The school supply list
is long. It becomes a huge expense for some families. We are
asking for everything from black and white composition books to pencils
and erasers. Longs Drugs posts a required list for all schools.
NEMO will distribute these articles. A box will be provided in the
Narthex for collection.
Important Notice
Please replace plastic covers on the
electrical outlets in Founders Hall after you use them. Remember
there are small kids in there and we need to keep them safe.
Prayer Chain
We are updating the
prayer chain that can help our congregation to support each other with
prayers, encouraging words, and other communication. Depends on
your residential address, there will be three prayer chain lists, such
as Kahului/Wailuku, Kihei/Wailea, and Upcountry/Kula/Haiku/Pukalani.
Please see the bulletin board and provide your name and contact number.
UMCOR Appeals

UMCOR is providing
help for the victims of Typhoon Durian. One hundred percent of the
donation to UMCOR Advance #240235, Philippines Emergency, Typhoon
Durian, will go to support recover efforts in the disaster stricken
areas.
Katrina victims
continue to need help. A first anniversary fundraising appeal to
help rebuild churches and congregations affected by Hurricane Katrina
netted more than $2 million. It is just a beginning for the
Katrina Church Recovery Appeal sponsored by the United Methodist Council
of Bishops.
